Types of Criminal Appeals
There are different types of Criminal Appeals in NSW. These can include:

Local Court to District Court Appeals - If convicted or sentenced in the Local Court, you may appeal to the District Court for a rehearing. These appeals must be filed within 28 days.

District Court or Supreme Court to Court of Criminal Appeal (CCA) - Appeals to higher courts may involve legal errors, miscarriages of justice, or severity of sentence. Leave to appeal is typically required.
